Miniature Quilling refers to quillworks that are not more than ten centimetres in size. Miniature Quilling rarely comes as individual pieces, but almost always as an entire set.
Freestanding Quilling refers to quillworks that are completely self-supporting. A freestanding quilled piece may be displayed on a base but must not be attached to it for support. Otherwise, the base needs to be quilled in order to be classified as "Freestanding Quilling".
