You may not be able to tell from the title but this framed artwork is, in fact, a wedding-themed gift.  The wish is for the newly-weds to grow old together and live a life of riches.  This is in accordance with the "Chinese Auspicious Pattern", a type of traditional Chinese decorative folk art that places emphasis on its auspicious connotation, from which the design is based on.
Here, in the design of Prosperous Till Old, the pattern of two light-vented bulbuls, or Chinese bulbuls, with the peony connotes prosperous till old.  The peony stands for prosperity as it is a symbol of wealth.  The bulbul is literally known as "White Head" in Chinese because of the white patch around the nape, which appears only when the bird reaches maturity.  This is not unlike that of a person's hair greying when old.  As such, a pair of bulbuls is used to symbolise a couple growing old together.
Four intricately quilled corner-border embellishments complement the subjects which are arranged in a circular layout for a connotation of a happy ending.  The title of the artwork, loosely translated as "The Prosperous Till Old Picture" and read from right to left in the ancient way, uses a quaint antique Chinese font painstakingly quilled to complete a traditional look that this piece of work hopes to achieve.
